World Travel Market

The brief for this project was to visit the Excel Centre for the “World Travel Market”. We had the choice of three photographic projects that were to be completed by 2:30pm for everyone to show their work to the group. Our main priority was to be a part of a crowded audience as there were loads of people who were attending this event.

Here were the three options that we had the choice of:

1. Recreate Robert Doisneau’s famous Parisian photograph “The Kiss” in the crowds of the World Travel Market” market fair at Excel.

2. ”Alone with Everybody” is the title of Charles Bukowski poem. Go to the “World Travel Market” and try to express this title photographically.

3. Create a triptych of crowd shots that reveal something intriguing and disturbing about being in the crowd.

I decided to go with “The Kiss”

To do this I decided I would in list the help of my boyfriend, this is not something that we do often, that is showing affection in a public place, but for the case of the project it needed to be done.

I think the out come is nothing like what it should have been, people on-looking, kiss looking forced so much so that even Ed passed it off as a joking kiss.

I am not happy with the outcome in any shape but the insight it gives people seeing that there is a vast differences between the consumptions of free love with no reactions is a long way from the truth.
